Mpower Project Mann Supports 75000 CISF Families with Mental Health Services

Mpower Project Mann

Pune: Mpower Project Mann, a collaborative initiative between the Aditya Birla Education Trust (ABET) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), has successfully provided mental health support to more than 75,000 CISF personnel and their families across India.

The project, launched under a formal MoU in November 2024, is led by Mpower, ABET’s flagship mental health initiative, and has emerged as a transformative step in institutionalizing psychological care within India’s security forces.

In a progress review meeting, Neerja Birla, Founder and Chairperson of ABET, and DG R S Bhatti, IPS, Director General of CISF, reaffirmed their continued partnership to strengthen mental wellness within CISF ranks.

Mpower Project Mann integrates awareness campaigns, clinical counselling, and psychometric assessments to address stress, anxiety, depression, and emotional fatigue among CISF personnel.

The initiative also features:

  • 8,506 officers and sub-officers trained in early detection and referral of mental health concerns
  • 21,000 psychometric assessments conducted in hyper-sensitive CISF units, including IGI Airport, Delhi Metro, and the Indian Parliament
  • 24×7 helpline services for accessible support across India

The program has led to a notable reduction in CISF’s suicide rate, now below the national average, and has addressed challenges such as marital discord, financial anxiety, and occupational stress.

“Mental health is as mission-critical as physical fitness,” said DG R S Bhatti. “Mpower Project Mann ensures our personnel remain resilient, focused, and ready.”
